Raised by blind parents with a unique view of the world, Bill Rush has based his life’s work on seeing what others may never know. As a child, Bill quickly harnessed the power to help his mother see through his own eyes, forming a special connection through the gift of sight and developing an overwhelming desire to share his vision of the world with those around him. Characterized by bold contrast and intricate details, Bill’s work is unmistakable and unforgettable.
Their favorite pastime was Cubs baseball, where Bill would fill in the play-by-play for his mom whenever Harry Caray got distracted. As he’d describe the ivy and bleachers of Wrigley Field to his mom during games, he used to spin tales of his ultimate fantasy; to live in a building across the street from Wrigley where he’d watch The Cubs play from his living room window. Though his mom didn’t live to see it, Bill now lives that dream overlooking Wrigley just like he told her he would, and focuses his photography career on sharing the magic he sees in Chicago with those who may never have otherwise caught it.
Bill is an APA award winning professional photographer with 20 years of experience. After nearly a decade on staff with The Weather Channel where his work was regularly viewed by millions worldwide, he now operates a photography and design studio with a client list that has included Comcast, LG Electronics, The Arthritis Foundation and Coca-Cola just to name a few. His artwork has been published internationally, featured in public art installations and gallery exhibitions, and he is proud to call Chicago his home.
